STORY / Reclaiming a lost summer

What you left behind that summer
was more than a memory.

Ten years later, Yuta returns to Kureishi, a village in the mountains.
At dusk, he sees a girl in a fox mask on a bridge.
Following a hair ornament he remembers, Yuta wanders into another world.

A forest with no way back. A shrine that has lost its name.
A place of mononoke and people robbed of their memories.
As he traces the lives they left behind,
the outlines of a forgotten summer slowly return.

To return home. To remember.
And to live the rest of that summer once again.
