We are beginning our independent game development activities under the name STUDIO INARI.
The name comes from the Inari fox mask worn by the girl in our first game, BANKA. Its release will mark our starting point. Under this name, we will build both the works themselves and a home from which to share them.
Beneath the silence,
stories breathe.
A small studio. A story to remember.
STUDIO INARI is an independent studio for games and stories. Japanese landscapes, folklore, beliefs and otherworlds just beyond everyday life are the subjects we turn into playable stories.
One work at a time, rather than grand promises. We hope to create games whose landscapes return to mind long after you finish playing.
Our first story is BANKA.
BANKA is a Japanese horror adventure set in Kureishi Village. August 31, a girl in a fox mask and memories of a summer ten years ago: follow the story through conversations and exploration.
The game is in development. Visit its page to meet the characters and see the in-game background art.
Development notes, here too.
Alongside release announcements, we will share the worlds of our games and how we create them. Subscribe to the RSS feed to follow new articles.
